Zero Copy Direct Deposit with Gigabit Ethernet
Diploma Thesis Summer 2001

Institute for Computer Systems, ETH Zürich
The highly efficient zero copy software system that was developed at the institute of computer systems circumvents data copies while communicating over Gigabit Ethernet. This allows very high bandwidths. This project implements some techniques to optimize the latency.
The goal of this work was to propose and implement an all-to-all
barrier synchronization directely on driver level.
To test the implementation which resulted in barrier latencies
of 40 us for 16 nodes an all-to-all-communication test application
